Revolutionary Road

Revolutionary Road - Richard Yates Awww... Frank and April, what a sweet couple...

Yates' spins a yarn that smacks of that late 50s suburban angst. Frank reminded me of Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman- living a life a disillusionment and happy as punch to be doing so. The writing is truly 5-star, pure and authentic, and I'm curious to see how that plays out on the screen as I have not yet seen the film. I have a suspicion that the satire and subtle nuances of the novel won't come across nearly as well on the screen as they do on the page. But I am pleased there's been a resurging interest in Yates' work. I'm anxious to read more.
