I learned that if you think you're being healthy by ordering some of the salad options at restaurants, more often than not, you're better off eating a Big Mac. I don't think the author is advocating you eat fast food, I just think he is offering a guide on what to look for if you do find yourself eating out. The biggest shocker for me was the over 1,000 calorie turkey sandwich at Panera. I always thought I was making a wise decision by going to Panera vs. other fast food choices. Of course I usually get the veggie sandwich on sourdough which is way less calories than the Asiago bread sandwiches. Also helpful to know is that SmartStart cereal (which claims to be a healthy cereal) has more calories and sugar than Fruit Loops.
